Research Support

Apart from being the most productive Indian institution in management research, ISB has also made a sound start in the global context. Several organisations have helped the School reach such great heights in so few years. Details on some of the organisations and their grants are listed below

THE IBM has collaborated with ISB to work jointly on research projects of mutual interest in Service Science. Both IBM and ISB have formed a steering committee that convenes regularly to form the agenda of the collaboratory. Joint research with ISB faculty through this initiative has helped IBM tremendously. The Collaboratory was housed within the Srini Raju Centre for IT and Networked Economy (SRITNE) at ISB.

Citi Foundation had made a grant to the Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF) at the ISB to support research work at the centre. The funding will be used for research and faculty for CAF and to strengthen its position as the premier finance research centre in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Wadhwani foundation, a not-for-profit organisation set up by Romesh Wadhwani, the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Symphony Technology Group, has funded the first research centre at the ISB - the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development.

The ‘Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise’ was set up to enable Indian family businesses to learn about the subject, exchange best practices and benefit from cutting-edge research. Initially a Chair (Thomas Schmidheiny Chair for Family Business and Wealth Management) was established at ISB in 2006, which was later upgraded to a full-fledged Centre in 2015, encouraged by the impact of the work done. Professor Ramachandran is the Executive Director of the Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise at the Indian School of Business

ISB’s first research Chair was established with a grant from Indu Projects Ltd - a Hyderabad based real estate company. The Biocon Cell for Innovation Management fosters innovation and links it to operational excellence. The Cell has been launched in partnership with Biocon Limited, and works under the aegis of the Centre for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC)

The SBI Cell for Public Sector Leadership has been set up to help in the understanding of how leaders in public sector organisations succeed, fail, change, innovate and groom future leaders. The SBI Cell set in association with the State Bank of India (SBI), works under the aegis of the Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC)

The Bharti Institute of Public Policy institute will promote quality, research and full time courses in the area of Public Policy. This institute aims at creating a talent pool and providing meaningful insights, facilitating the policy making process in various strategic areas.

The Max Institute of Healthcare Management institute will impart industry relevant skill sets to students in this programme to meet India’s growing need for quality healthcare professionals.

Munjal Global Manufacturing Institute will be a premier institute in manufacturing excellence and innovation.

The Punj Lloyd Institute of Physical Infrastructure Management institute will play a critical role in generating a huge pool of skilled managers to meet not just India's but also the global skills shortage in the construction industry. This institute will be offering managerial skills in the infrastructure management.

The DRL Cell for Employability and Skill Development conducts research to develop and demonstrate proofs-of-concept for market-based solutions in the skilling/employability market that will have an impact on the large low-income population in India.

Climate Policy Initiative, a not for profit institution with global presence, established in the United States of America is an entity that examines the effectiveness of energy and climate policies around the globe and CPI wishes to establish a research group regarding Indian climate and energy policies.
