ISB engages CHROs in decoding the digital discourse for Human Capital
Hosts the 2nd annual Human Capital Thought leaders’ Summit in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, January 24, 2020: The Human Capital & Leadership Initiative ( HC&LI) at Indian School of Business convened its 2nd annual Human Capital Thought leaders’ summit at its Hyderabad campus today. More than 30 leading Chief HR Officers (CHROs) from well-known companies across India participated in the day-long event and deliberated on the overall theme of Leading Human Capital into 2020s: Decoding the Digital Discourse.
Welcoming the delegates Dean Rajendra Srivastava said ‘Human Capital is the topmost priority of CEOs and ISB is driving industry relevant applied research and executive education in this area. This event marks ISB’s commitment to engage with leading Human capital practitioners and advance the thought leadership in this area.’
Practice Professor Chandrasekhar Sripada, who is also the Executive Director of ISB’s Human Capital initiative outlined 4 relevant themes for 2020s: 1) Organisational Agility, 2) New Mindsets for the future 3) New approaches to leadership development and 4) Building inclusion -beyond diversity. He said: “Evolving digital technologies will have massive transformational influence of enterprises in 2020s and in that context key Human Capital strategies need to be reimagined to both enable and leverage digital technologies. He emphasised that ISB is looking to design and launch tailored learning program that will equip Human Capital professional to steer through the new digital era.

The event started with a keynote conversation between Professor Madan Pillutla of London Business School and Anantha Sayana ,Chief Digital Officer of L&T. In this big picture conversation, the speakers covered a large range of real world issues and challenges around how to drive digital transformation of organisations.
A book edited by Prof Chandrasekhar Sripada: Leading Human Capital in the 2020s Emerging Perspectives was also released by Dean Rajendra Srivastava in the event. This book contains articles from ISB affiliated Professors on themes like Leading digital transformation, workforce ‘cap-agility’, building cross border leaders, managing biases , architecting leadership development and well-being and ‘beingful’ work. The idea behind this book is to present ISB’s thought leadership in the various areas of Human Capital to practitioners in the field. Dr. Phil Zerrillo, Deputy Dean ISB moderated a panel discussion with the authors and explored the key messages of the book.
The delegates looked upon the various aspects of digital transformation in the roundtable discussions and later debated them in plenaries leading to key take ways for both academics and practice.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Ester Martinez CEO of People Matters.
