10th batch of ISB’s Certificate Programme in Business Analytics (CBA) graduates

June 22, 2019, Hyderabad: 82 data science professionals from the 10th batch of Certificate Programme in Business Analytics (CBA) graduated at the Indian School of Business here today. The CBA Programme offered by ISB’s Applied Statistics and Computing (ASC) Lab has a strong alumni network of 900+ analytics professionals and the current class of 82 participants will be added to the alumni network through the graduating class.
                                     
Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Ms Katherine B Hadda US Consul General in Hyderabad delivered the keynote address and said, “We need to skill ourselves to face future disruptions and data science is the most future looking skillset.” Referring to a World Economic Forum Survey, she said, “By 2022 around 85% of companies are likely to adopt data analytics to run their businesses. India has the most number of data analytics jobs after the USA. The number of new analytics jobs advertised per month has increased by almost 76% from April 2017 to April 2018. And very importantly, India has the advantage of demographic dividend, which needs to be encashed by properly investing in human resources that are future ready.” Speaking about the partnership with ISB, she said “ISB has been a valued partner of the Consulate in its 10 year journey.”


 
Mr Sakaar Anand, Head of Human Resources, BNY Mellon Technology India in his address said: “HR is increasingly using data analytics and machine learning to help business leaders make informed decisions on talent. These emerging technologies are being used right from talent attraction to hiring, onboarding, learning and now for a continuous employee engagement. Programmes like CBA help prepare talent in this field.”
 
Mr Vikram Devatha received the Gold Medal and Mr Sameer Saurabh received the Silver Medal for their academic excellence in the programme.
