The annual 'Homecoming' for alumni and their families at our Mohali campus

Class of 2016 hosts Equinox and welcomes alumni across classes and varied walks of life for three days of learning, networking and fun

The event that Indian School of Business fondly refers to as ‘homecoming’ - the Equinox 2015 kicked off in style as the sun set on the evening of September 11th. The line-up of events epitomised the underlying thread of Equinox - learning-networking-fun. Santosh Babu, a CEO trainer and coach, conducted a leadership session, focusing on the ways to succeed in a competitive world. Asif Basra, a television, theatre and cinema personality, conducted a leadership workshop wherein he taught theatre based techniques to improve communication, develop creativity and break conditioning to be innovative and successful managers.

There were other workshops on baking and painting for families and children. The results of the Car Dekho competition were announced, and then a session by the CNBC TV18 Young Turks followed suit. The session was a well-curated panel discussion with insights on the rise of startups, investors’ point of view and a Q&A session with the students. None other than Syna Dehnugara moderated the panel discussion and the panel consisted of young entrepreneurs namely, Ritesh  Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Oyorooms.com, Prashant Tandon, Founder & CEO, 1 MG (HealthKartPlus), Rishi Mukherjee, Co-Founder & COO at ScoopWhoop.com, Maninder Gulati, Principal, Lightspeed India Partners Advisors (Alumnus from the PGP, Class of 2010) and Anant Goenka, Wholetime Director and Head New Media The Express Group.  The evening also highlighted the networking experience – many exchanged their aspirations and dreams and sought advice on the same. The evening saw a cultural extravaganza merge with the carnival theme and a retail bazaar by the students.

There was no dearth of fun either with the smells of barbecue wafting through the air and students, alums, faculty, members of administration coming together and sharing ideas and experiences with one another. The students also put up stellar performances in the realm of dance, music and theatre, which was then followed by a band performance by Prateek Kuhad and a stand up comedy act by Kenny Sebastian. A Bollywood & Comic Con theme set the tone for the party afterward – an unsurpassed fun quotient of the Equinox 2015.

Standing true to legacy, the class of 2015, donated funds for another recreation room. The three-day saga ended with the inauguration of the Bloomberg Finance Lab  and a Dean’s brunch. Not to mention, a bittersweet adieu to the alumni and a bar raised high for the coming years.
