ISB Updates
TEAM ISB DECLARED "WIZARDS OF FINANCE" AT EXCHEQUER 2011
Ritesh Mangla, Piyush Bansal, Ankit Aggarwal, Rajkumar Vinod Vachher and Amit Tyagi, students of the PGP Class of 2012, were declared“Wizards of Finance”and winners at “Exchequer,”a competition organised by BETA, the Finance and Investments Club of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), in association with UBS, a global financial services firm.
The students were tested on their insight in capital markets, investment banking, private equity and strategic finance among other topics. Participants were also tested on their business acumen, ability to think on their feet as well as quantitative, analytical and communications skills.
The teams competed in two stages: First, there was an online elimination round, from which the winners were selected for the Grand Finale that was held at the IIMA campus on October 7-9, 2011.
The ISB team stood first in two out of the four individual events – “DealMaker,” which was the investment banking event and “Leverage,” which was the venture capital event. The overall winners of the competition were decided based upon the results of these individual events.
Amongst the participating schools this year included the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, Xavier’s Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur (XLRI) and the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK). The team from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIMI) was the runner-up in the competition.
