RBI Governor’s day at School

“It is great to be back at the School,” Reserve Bank of India, Governor, Raghuram Rajan said interacting with students of the Indian School of Business (ISB) today.

Rajan, who was just last week conferred with the Best Central Bank Governor award by Euromoney magazine, has had a long association with the ISB, since its inception. He has been a guide and mentor to ISB’s  young faculty and students  and  was also  chosen as the Academic Fellow  for the year 2007 at the ISB’s Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF).  He was instrumental in setting up of the CAF which is dedicated to research in all areas of finance, including financial markets, institutions and regulations.

In fact, ISB is the only business school in this part of the world where the RBI governor has also taught.  The governor fielded a range of questions from students for over an hour ranging from fiscal and monetary policy, regulation of the Central Bank,  the global economy, and manufacturing to his thoughts on leadership and governance.
