Punjab Government releases ISB's research report at the Agriculture Summit 2014

Recently, the Punjab Government commissioned Indian School of Business to undertake a research study to analyse the potential of increase in the production of selected five commodities mentioned in the Agriculture Policy for Punjab 2013 (Draft) in the wake of the proposed area expansion under alternate crops farming. Given the nature and magnitude of crisis in the farm sector in the state, this research is a pioneering attempt to critically analyse the diversification strategy recommended by the Draft Policy. The report was recently released at the Agriculture Summit 2014 at Mohali.
“I am greatly encouraged that this report will be of practical use to the policymakers looking at ways to better understand how the government can best implement the diversification strategy. I would like to congratulate the research team at Munjal Institute of Global Manufacturing (MIGM) at the Indian School of Business for making an excellent start” said Deepinder Singh, IAS, Secretary, Punjab Mandi Board.
In the coming years, the school endeavours to further its efforts in developing talent and deepening research-based knowledge in specialised verticals that target areas critical to India's growth through its four institutes that focus on Public Policy, Manufacturing, Healthcare and infrastructure.
