ISB Joyathon'14 - where we ran miles to create smiles

The marathon was organised by students from Net Impact Club to create awareness about Daan Utsav

A beautiful sunrise over the Sukhna lake inspired the citizens of Chandigarh and the ISB community on a bright Sunday morning to participate in the ISB Joyathon, a first of its kind marathon organised by the students of the Indian School of Business (ISB) in the Tricity to promote Daan Utsav - earlier called the ‘Joy of Giving Week’. The marathon saw huge participation with over 150 people running miles to create smiles!

Prominent faces of Chandigarh - Vivek Atray, IAS, Advocate Mac Sarin and his wife Niti Sarin flagged off the run. Runners participated in two categories in the marathon - 5km and 10km around Sukhna Lake. The students of the Yadavindra Public School also presented a skit based on the theme of 'Giving' after the conclusion of the marathon at the Sukhna Lake.

An initiative of Net Impact - the social responsibility club at ISB, Joyathon was organised to create awareness about ‘Daan Utsav’ and to encourage the residents of the Tricity to become more socially responsible and give back to the society in whatever way possible. It was truly a memorable event for ISB, especially since this was the first time that such a marathon was organised in the city by ISB.

ISB also collaborated with other organisations in Chandigarh to promote the act of giving during Daan Utsav - which is celebrated from October 2-8 every year. These include the Blood Bank Society Chandigarh, Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce, Yadvindra Public School, and St John’s High School, that are also undertaking lots of activities in the region.
