ISB Updates
ISB is the first Indian member of Executive DBA Council
We are delighted to have become a member of the Executive Doctorate in Business Administration Council (EDBAC). This is the only organisation, globally, that focuses exclusively on executive doctoral degree programmes and their issues.
EDBAC aims to provide outstanding networking and educational opportunities for professionals who serve and participate in executive doctoral degree programmes. These include but are not limited to Directors, Academic Directors, Faculty, Administrators, Students and Alumni.
Because ISB is a member now, participants from our Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) will now be able to join over 45 programmes across 14 countries working continuously to innovate in the fields of executive doctoral education, action research and engaged management. ISB is the only Indian school to be a member of this unique council.
Through EDBAC, ISB’s EFPM will gain visibility to over 1000 potential students monthly. “EDBAC is the only global organisation for fostering excellence and innovation for EDBA programmes such as our EFPM. We are pleased to have been accepted for membership and look forward to the networking and educational opportunities for our faculty, administrators and programme participants,” said Professor Sanjay Kallapur, Deputy Dean, Planning and Governance, ISB.
“EFPM participants will not only get an opportunity to connect with established executive doctoral programmes internationally but also gain mentorship through programme planning and growth phases from member school administrators and faculty,” he added.
ISB currently has 17 participants in its first cohort. These participants come from diverse backgrounds and with an average work experience of about 19 years with a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 32 years of experience.
EFPM is specially created for senior executives who wish to deepen their understanding of research methods and apply them to address modern challenges of today’s dynamic business environment. There are very few options for business executive education beyond a Masters-level degree. This holds true specifically for professionals who want to seek terminal-level education, while still fully employed.
Through EFPM, we are creating leaders that are equipped to face the growing complexity of managing a business in a rapidly changing business environment, and hence, such a scenario creates a need for business doctorates beyond those acquired by executives within organisations.
Applications for the new Class of EFPM are now open.
