ISB hosts eco friendly Car Rally
The Mohali campus of the Indian School of Business (ISB) hosted the finale of the Chandigarh edition of the FAME India Eco Drive. The “Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electronic Vehicles” (FAME) India - an initiative of the Government of India to promote conservation of energy and environment, was flagged off at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh and concluded at the ISB’s Mohali campus. The ISB hosted this event as a part of its mission to promote and embrace sustainability as a way of life and ensure a more energy-efficient and sustainable future.
Over 100 persons & 64 vehicles (including Electric cars/motor cycles and Hybrid cars) participated in the rally post which a conference was also held. Both events were well attended and witnessed active participation from the attendees. Attending the conference were Ambuj Sharma, Additional Secretary, Department of Heavy Industries, Government of India, Amit Talwar, PCS - Director Transport, U.T. Chandigarh and other senior executives from SIAM, Hero Eco, Mahindra and Toyota among others.
The conference was chaired by Manmohan Sodhi, Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Cass Business School and a visiting faculty at the ISB, whose views were very well received by all. The event was facilitated by the Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management along with Operations and Sustainability at the Mohali campus.
