Shyam Nambiar, PGP Co2017, joined the elite bracket of the prestigious global Student Leadership Award (SLA) winners, announced by Graduate Business Forum (GBF) in May 2017. From the Indian navy to Indian School of Business (ISB) and now in Amazon, Shyam’s journey is punctuated with several exciting milestones. His journey is a pleasant reminder of the age defying adventure sought by the human spirit that grabs every opportunity that life offers, to learn. Shyam was the ISB Graduate Student Board (GSB) President, and going by his illustrious career it is hardly surprising he climbed to the pinnacles of recognition at the global level.

GBF is a global network of current and former student leaders, from the world’s top graduate business programmes.  It is an association of the top 70 B-Schools from around the world, including only ISB and IIM Ahmedabad from India. The Leadership Award is their top recognition, is awarded annually and is given to the individual (or team) best exemplifying the Graduate Business Forum’s ideals of leadership, innovation and care for the greater community at the graduate business level. Every year GBF selects two exceptional student leaders or teams for its global Student Leadership Award (SLA) and Responsible Leadership Award (RLA). The Student Leadership Award is rewarded for leadership and innovation within the business school community and/ or curriculum.

The winners are role models for student leadership and responsible leadership at the global level and should have succeeded in making a significant impact within the graduate business community or society.

This year the Leadership Awards were bestowed at the 2017 Graduate Business Conference held from May 24-28, 2017 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
