Hyderabad campus bags Excellent Energy Efficiency award from CII and Mohali campus wins Times of India -Honeywell Smart Building Award 2015

The two campuses spread over 260 acres in Hyderabad and 70 acres in Mohali have been built to be sustainable, green, energy efficient and futuristic. The infrastructure has blended seamlessly into the natural habitat and both campuses are home to a large variety of flora and fauna. The buildings adhere to the latest international building code and educational-facility-operating standards. The School has also adopted a policy that all new construction projects and renovations across the two campuses must adhere to the Green Buildings Guidelines.

The Mohali campus has introduced several initiatives such as making efficient use of solar energy, optimal use of day light with compatible design and architecture, LED fixtures that reduce energy usage, geothermal system for air-conditioning which uses no water, rainwater harvesting, and increasing green cover. The Hyderabad campus has adopted and installed green technologies such as energy-efficient solar lights reverse osmosis plant, softener plant for launderette to reduce usage of chemicals and water, Geothermal Plant etc. to reduce energy consumption. These measures have led to a cumulative reduction in energy consumption of 31 percent over last three years and an annual reduction of 2600 tons of CO2 equivalent. The two campuses have won several awards which are a testimony to the pioneering measures taken by ISB to make both its campuses sustainable safe and energy efficient.

ISB campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art learning infrastructure – lecture theatres, auditorium, high definition video conferencing facilities to enable collaboration across locations, seamless access to digital and online library resources, cashless payments through use of smart cards, and more. They have world-class amenities, including fully serviced apartments for students and faculty, cafeterias, a host of sports and recreational facilities, and support services such as banking, communication, convenience stores, medical facilities and more.
