Founding Class of the Leadership Programme in Infrastructure Management joins ISB

The Indian School of Business (ISB) welcomed the Founding Class of the Leadership Programme in Infrastructure Management (LIM) on February 6 at its Hyderabad campus. The programme has been developed by the Punj Lloyd Institute of Infrastructure Management and the Centre for Executive Education at ISB.
Welcoming the students, Pradeep Singh, CEO Mohali campus and Deputy Dean, ISB said, “ISB has made a unique intent and commitment that we will focus on finding solutions to real world problems and not limit ourselves to just delivering high quality education and research. We will engage closely with all our stakeholders to ensure our research will make an impact on industry, government, academia and the society at large. In keeping with this, we started the four institutes at ISB’s Mohali campus which are focused on the sectors that play a critical role to the growth of the Indian economy.”
The LIM is the culmination of the efforts by the Punj Lloyd Institute and CEE over an intense preparation period. After a rigorous selection process, the founding class of 2016 takes off with 25 students having strong and varied profiles in the infrastructure sector. The average work experience of a participant in the class is over thirteen years and the students come from organisations such as the National Highway Authority of India, National Thermal Power Corporation, JMC Projects, Simplex Infra, Punj Lloyd Group, and JLL India amongst others.
In addition to experienced professionals wanting to equip themselves with formal business management education to prepare them to become leaders in infrastructure management, the student body consists of infrastructure entrepreneurs, owners of small to mid-sized infrastructure organisations, as well as Managing Partner, Directors, VPs, Functional Heads, Advisors & Administrators with various Infrastructure organisations.
Congratulating the students on becoming the Founding Class of the LIM, Pradeep Sing added, “You have become pioneers of sorts by choosing to join this first of its kind programme created by the Punj Llyod Institute of Infrastructure Management. We will be partners in the journey and make this programme a resounding success. Together we will strive to do what ISB does best – groom leaders and I am sure you will be proud to be a part of LIM and make a difference to the industry in the years to come
The daylong session included talks by some of the faculty members of the LIM such as K Venkatesh Chief Executive & Managing Director of L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited and Professor M Rammohan Rao, former Dean of the ISB among others. Taught by the best of faculty and practitioners from the industry, the curriculum designed for LIM promises to give students the capability to understand and handle the complexities as well as leverage the opportunities presented by this fast growing sector.
With this ISB completes its suite of four specialised management programme offerings from each of the four Institutes at ISB. These are specialised hybrid programmes - blending online and on-campus learning spread over a year. The programmes have been developed by the respective Institutes and their partner schools in collaboration with the Centre for Executive Education at ISB. LIM joins the already launched Management Programme in Public Policy (MPPP), the Management Programme in Manufacturing and Operations (MPMO) and the Healthcare Management Programme (HMP). As we foray into the area of specialised programmes, the fulsome response from the industry further strengthens our resolve and commitment towards making each of these an exemplary programme.
