Founding class of MPMO graduates

Twenty four manufacturing professionals passed out as graduates of the ISB’s Management Programme in Manufacturing and Operations (MPMO). These professionals came a year back as students of the founding class of this specialised course for manufacturing professionals The Programme, designed jointly by the Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing and the Centre for Executive Education at the ISB, has been created to meet the increasing need for techno-business managers for the manufacturing sector. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint MD Hero MotoCorp & Chairman of Hero Corporate Service Ltd.
The event started with a welcome note by Pradeep Singh, Deputy Dean and CEO Mohali campus, ISB. He said MPMO has been designed as ISB’s contribution to the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ movement and drive the growth of one of the most important sectors of the Indian economy.
Sunil Kant Munjal spoke about the manufacturing sector’s need to adapt change and do things better than just to produce more. He said manufacturing sector needs more people with ability to identify market opportunities and pursue them to build the right products and manufacturing capabilities. The MPMO is a step by ISB towards this direction.

The families and friends of the participants also participated in the ceremony and cheered the graduates as they went onstage to receive their certificates. Students for the best projects were also honored with gold and silver medals.
