Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar releases a book - 'Perspectives on India's Defence Offset Policy' - co edited by an ISB staff member

Against the background of the national and international conversations on Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s mission of ‘Make in India’, a book - ‘Perspectives on India’s Defence Offset Policy’ co edited by an ISB staff member was acknowledged and released by the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar recently.
Edited by Prof. ManMohan S. Sodhi of Cass Business School, London and Col. Rajiv Bhargava (Retd) of the Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing at the Indian School of Business, the book has contributions by 18 domain experts, providing a 360 degree view of defence procurements and policy. The editors, in summarizing the views of all stakeholders such as bureaucrats, industry leaders and OEMs have outlined areas of common grounds and the methodology to achieve synergy of thoughts. The book is a one of its kind in existence and will serve as a guide to the policy needs of the future irrespective of what finally goes into the policy.
The Munjal Institute for Global Manufacturing at ISB has the mandate of improving manufacturing in India. The institute strongly feels that Indian manufacturing can best improve by the infusion of critical technology and cutting edge R&D as enablers to move up the value chain. The Institute is actively involved in bringing the government, Industry and defence OEMs on a common platform through its Swavalambhan series of national seminars. The next such seminar will be held in Nov 2015 and will provide a useful critique on the DPP 2015 which shall be released by then.
