Conference on The Digital Economy
The Srini Raju Centre for Information Technology and the Networked Economy (SRITNE), Indian School of Business (ISB), hosted the eleventh edition of Conference on the Digital Economy (CODE) on December 21 - 23, 2017 at Neemrana Fort-Palace, Rajasthan, India. SRITNE also hosted the WITS (Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems - a global academic conference for information systems) Feeder Workshop on December 21, 2017, having Technology-enabled Socioeconomic Transformations as its theme.
The CODE conference is known for its high-quality research programme, and has always attracted top researchers throughout the world, who are engaging in cutting-edge research in the areas of information systems, strategy and marketing, economics, operations management and computer science. The topics covered belonged to Digital Platforms & Ecosystems, Strategies for the Digital Economy, IT Outsourcing etc.
The purpose of this conference was to provide a platform for academics to identify and explore opportunities for research related to digitisation and the digital economy. Leading scholars from universities worldwide presented their research on diverse topics such as digital platforms and ecosystems, digital marketing, analytics, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, and technology sourcing and partnerships.
The global WITS community is focused on addressing complex business problems or societal issues using current and emerging information technologies. The Feeder workshop, which was conducted for the first time in India, encouraged research at the intersection of technology and public policy. The summary of this ISB-hosted event is scheduled to be presented at the next global WITS conference in San Francisco, December 2018. Topics such as Digital Transformations in Public Governance, Systems for Smart Energy Solutions, Social Impacts of ICT, and Credibility & Authenticity in Digital Media had several eminent speakers sharing the stage.
A total of twenty-six papers were presented at the two conferences, which also drew participation from FPM students, Research Associates and resident faculty.
