The National HRD Network (NHRDN) and the Indian School of Business (ISB) organised the “3rd NHRDN-ISB Talent Management Conclave” at the ISB campus on October 22, 2011. The aim of the conclave was to converge members from the industry and academia in a discussion on the workplace of tomorrow.
The first session, focusing on “Managing the Life Cycle of Your High Potentials in a Borderless World,” was chaired by Jon Younger, Partner, RBL Group and Director, RBL Institute, who spoke about the global standards and best practices for managing the life cycle of high potential individuals in organisations. Other speakers in this segment were William Pelster, Managing Principal, Talent Development, Deloitte Services LP and Pratik Kumar, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Wipro Limited.
Dishan Kamdar, Senior Associate Dean, Academic Programmes and Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour, ISB conducted a workshop on the techniques for successful persuasion and negotiations with multiple stakeholders. Through presentations and exercises, participants acquainted themselves with the nuances of negotiating through difficult scenarios.
As part of the event, Ishan Manaktala, Managing Director and Head of Asia, Netik Information Service Group moderated a panel discussion with four students from ISB’s Class of 2012, on the challenges they face at the workplace. This exchange provided insights that are necessary for our workplace to evolve.
