Women make up nearly half the world’s population, however in the developing world only a small percentage are able to make their way into mainstream workforce. However, research suggests that women do well in social enterprises. The proposed research, is an attempt to understand why, what and how of the social enterprise eco-system that makes women thrive? Women, for centuries have been the anchor for most if not all households. They ensure that the essential functions and beyond in each household get done within the financial constraints and challenges of the respective household. Women’s style of management is said to be such that they can manage competing priorities and tensions. Is it the natural ability that women have to solve problems which involves thinking of those around them, which in essence has also been the true strength of social enterprises? The researcher explores this with the help a three phase research methodology. First is a game based tool designed to judge the difference between men and women when making decisions? The second phase is when the game is adapted to a social enterprise context and finally the validation process which is case study based approach to understand what makes women thrive in a social enterprise?
